Our company does not have a designated summer holiday period 😌

Personally, during times like the Obon holidays, when so many people are traveling and many places are crowded, I actually enjoy staying in central Tokyo, which becomes quieter and more relaxed ✨

The idea of “staggering holidays” has been discussed in Japan for quite some time, so I sometimes wonder why holidays are still so heavily concentrated around certain periods...

Perhaps it is because society still largely operates on the assumption that “if everyone else is taking time off, I should take time off at the same time.” If clients and business partners are also away, and the people around you are taking holidays, it may simply feel more convenient and less disruptive to others, to do the same.

At the same time, when everyone takes holidays at once, there are obvious downsides: extreme congestion, crowded destinations, and significantly higher airfares and accommodation costs😭
